                                                     CALL FOR ABSTRACTS NOW OPEN – CLOSING MAY 1, 2010

Introduction

Following on from previous conferences in Fremantle and Hobart, Diving with Sea Turtle
the 3rd Australian Wildlife Tourism Conference will be co-hosted and held at the world famous Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary on the Gold Coast, Queensland from Wednesday 1 – Friday 3 September 2010.

Conference Theme

Wild Benefits has been selected as the conference theme to explore the diversity of positive impacts that are produced by sustainable wildlife tourism. In addition it will also examine and discuss the strategies designed to achieve and maintain them.

Conference Structure

Over the course of the three days the conference will present a range of plenary and concurrent sessions, fascinating keynote speakers, insightful and practical workshops.

There will also be space available for trade displays and other commercial marketing opportunities.

Social Events

Social events have been designed to not only renew friendships and build new ones, but to showcase some of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s best assets and local landscapes. The Conference Dinner will also be a gala fundraising evening for conservation projects with auctions, prizes and raffles.

Who Should Attend

Due to the inter-disciplinary nature of the conference theme we invite a wide range of academics, tourism professionals, wildlife managers, business operators and government personnel to submit an abstract for presentation. Both oral and poster presentations are welcome.
We particularly encourage tertiary students and PhD researchers to take part in this event.

We are currently inviting Expressions of Interest in the following areas:

* Sponsorship

* Trade displays

* Pre and post conference field trips

* Donation of Auction items

To register your Expression of Interest email admin@wildlifetourism.org.au  and don’t forget to keep coming back  so you can keep up-to-date with the latest conference developments.
