CSIRO Discovery Centre, Canberra
The 2010 RSPCA Scientific Seminar brings the issue of animal welfare in wildlife managment and conservation issues to the fore, examining the ways in which these activities can at times come into conflict.
The program aims to cross conventional topic boundaries, challenge current thinking and stimulate further discussion.

Looks like a good meeting
I wish I could come to ACT for this one.
Often animal welfare and conservation go hand in hand but there are conflicts, and some extreme views in each direction (e.g. on the topic of pest species control, and when to perform rescues or mercy killings in wilderness areas) which need to be resolved, or at least some sensible guidelines generally agreed on, for the good of both biodiversity conservation and well-being of individual animals.
