Accommodation for wildlife tourism workshop
Wildlife tourism workshop: Accommodation
Details will appear here in January
Meantime, we can let you know that there are several reasonably-priced venues, some with 2-3 bedrooms for those willing to cut costs by sharing facilities with other delegates, within a few minutes’ walk of the workshop. This means you can have a leisurely stroll to your accommodation after the last session, maybe detouring slightly to a lovely sandy beach (don’t expect to watch the sunset though – this is the east coast remember – but if you’re up early you can see a sunrise over the Pacific Ocean).
4-star and 5-star venues are also easily reached by buses or short taxi rides.
For shoestring budgets there are frequent and regular buses that will get you close to backpacker hostels, including the Coolangatta Sands (just a few stops south of Currumbin), and if you would like to stay on for an extra week after the workshop, this venue has a special on-going deal with Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary whereby you can do some volunteering at the Sanctuary from Sunday through to the following Saturday.
A variety of 4-star and 5-star venues are also easily reached by buses or short taxi rides.

Could I get some details on possible accommodation for the workshop please. Something cheap and close enough to walk to/from the venue. Single room.
Cheers. Tom
Hi Tom
There are two main budget options, which we’ll be providing more details on soon on this pageL
1. sharing a 3-bedroom apartment with shared facilities just around the corner (about $70 pp if one person per bedroom, less if prepared to share a bedroom)
2.Coolangatta Sands YHA, a short bus ride away – and the buses stop right outside the entry to Currumbin WIldlife Sanctuary, and run practically all day
